I used to work as a receptionist for a company and when I first started working I had two experiences in my life of answering calls from overseas and one time a friend called me on my cell phone while I was working part-time at a workshop that made handmade leather goods and I was working at a welfare facility basically just in Japan and I was told that I had to go to a hospital to get a call back. I used to work in a company where I had to answer the phone twice... I have had to answer the phone twice from abroad because of my job. I used to work as a receptionist and I used to work as a receptionist for a company. I used to work as a receptionist for a company a small local manufacturer and sometimes we would receive inquiries from overseas customers which made me very nervous when I received the call. I had studied English a little after entering the workforce so I could handle daily conversations but I had not learned business English so I could not engage in deep conversations. I also found it difficult to understand the customer on the phone because I couldn't read their lips so I had to keep asking them back. The receptionist mainly takes calls and connects them to the department that handles the information the customer wants to know but if there is no one there who can speak English the call is sometimes returned as not available at this time and it was often difficult to respond. However the receptionist is the face of the company and I couldn't afford to give foreign customers a bad impression so I tried my best to convince them through the best conversation I could.
